Doug Coyle
I am a Health Economist and Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. I moved to Ottawa in 1995 after previously working as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. My PhD focused on a normative framework for handling uncertainty and variability in economic evaluation and my research interests continue in that area with particular interest in determining efficient research portfolios with respect to clinical effectiveness. In addition to my research, I have advised the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technology in Health, Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada and various provincial ministries of health with respect to methodology of economic evaluation and in reimbursement decisions relating to health care interventions.
